This kiddy-friendly pooch pic was inspired by real-life basketball-playing canine Buddy, and in the States they've already had a sequel (Air Bud: Golden Receiver), with a third instalment (Air Bud: The Next Generation) on the way - despite the death of the original star (sniff). Have no doubt that this mutt can really play basketball and although the pace becomes oversentimental in places, the hound ✱is ready to bound on at all times and enliven the proceedings.

In this outing, Buddy teams up with new kid in town; Josh (Zegers from this year's Great Expectations), to lead the school team on a winning streak. The supporting cast are well aware that they're just sideline players and are happy to hold their own while the show is stolen by theܫ slam-dunking dog. Kids'll love it.
