Bungie confirms next project is an action MMO

ABungie staffer revealed to GDC attendees the studio's next release will indeed be an action-oriented MMO. The Halo dev teased♋ such a project last year, saying "Wouldn't it be great if we could make a world that was always there for you?" so this isn't exactly shocking news.

The news dropped during the “I Shot You First: Networking the Gameplay of Halo: Reach” GDC session starring Bungie's lead network engineer, David Aldridge. In it, he confirmed the existence of an MMO project, assuring the audience Bungie is aiming to do something🏅 new with the genre, and not just squeeze out “WoW in Space” (he means Starcraft, right?).

Unfortunately, that's about as much as Aldridge was willing to offer on Bungie's first non-Halo venture in over a decade.
