Doctor Who Christmas special gets two trailers and loads of new images

With only 18 days until Christmas (eek!), we are fast approaching the date for many a Christmas special, including Luther and Sherlock. Not to be outdone by those super-sleuths is Doctor Who. Following its season nine finale 'Hell Bent' (read our review here), the show will air its own one-hour Christmas special titled 'The Husbands of River Song' on Decem🌼ber 25.

A new synopsis indicates that the Doctor will be called into action when he is recruited by the River Guard to battle♒ King Hydroflax (Greg Davies) and his "giant Robot bodyguard". Plus, the return of Alex K♑ingston's River Song will please fans as the Doctor's wife has never met this Peter Capaldi-shaped incarnation before. All in a Christmas day's work!
