.There are now three categories reflecting your votes for best fantasy novel, best n🎐ewcomer and best cover art. Originally launched last year with the Legend award for best fantasy novel, the prize was invented to commemorate the work of best selling author David Gemmell. The first of over 30 published books was the much-loved Legend, published in 1984. It has never been out of print, and Gemmell's many admirers - including authors Stan Nichols and Deborah Miller - banded together to form an award that celebrates popular fantasy stories.
