29/07: Update! PSVR 2 deals have now landed in the US as well! You'll find a new record-low price🔯 on the PlayStation VR 2 at a range of stores right now. We have updated the story below and added information for these new discounts where appropriate.&nbs✃p;

PSVR 2 has held onto its price tag long enough, it s🎉eems. After a year on the shelves at full RRP, we've now had two large-scale discounts on the VR headset - and today's saving offers offer up a brand new record low price. That's a fantastic result for anyone keen on giving the VR side of PS5 a go, especially considering PC support should be heading our way soon, and it might just be cheap enough for me to get in this VR business.

Amazon U𝔍S currently has the PlayStation VR 2 available for - that's a $200 discount on the original launch price and a record-low. We've only ever seen this model $100 off in the past. Both and are also packi🎐ng these prices as well.

Over in the UK, you'll find the PSVR 2 headset available for , , and right now. That's a full £180 discount on the lofty £529.99 RRP. This has been a £500+ headset for the vast, vast majority of its life with today's deals representing only the second major discount to hit the system. The first came back in June via Sony's Days of Playꦉ sale, but only gave us £100 off the system.

A record-low price on a rarely discounted product is always worth celebrating, but the PSVR 2 actually offers a particularly strong value for money at this price point. It's now cheaper than the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:Meta Quest 3, and has PC support coming in the near-future (Sony just pꩵushed the Steam app for example).

I've held off on the pricey 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:PS5 accessory until now, despite it being the 澳洲幸运5开奖号码历史查询:best VR headset on the market. I've tried the Go, the Quest, and the original PSVR, but the fact that the headset cost more than the console itself had me reeling. Still, that Horizon mountain is call👍ing to me, and with more Steam options opening up shortly this is the better buy compare♊d to Meta at the moment.

Should you buy PSVR 2?

PSVR 2 up close next to a gaming PC

The PSVR 2 🌠has always been a tough sell - despite it technically having some of the best specs on the market. Sony's support of the device never really took off, with a few first-party releases sweetening up the PlayStation Store but a heavy decline in new games and features shortly after launch. There are a few secret weapons that still have me eyeing up the latest headset, though.

That all-important PC support could change everything. I wouldn't be recommending the PSVR 2 right now without it. Sony's lineup of experiences doesn't cut the mustard, but with Valve's ful꧑l selection of VR titles you're getting plenty of games and experiences bundled in here. Not only that, but the PSVR 2 boasts some pretty sweet specs; from its OLED 120Hz display to fantastic tracking - and even into the often under-utilized PS5 Cinematic Mode. This casts your regular console games onto a full OLED 120Hz panel beamed straight into your eyeballs, with no need to give up the TV - and if that's not a future we all dreamt of I don't know what is.

Of course, there are caveats. If you want mixed-reality applications and more lifestyle-focused experiences you'll want to stick to the Meta Quest 3. PSVR 2 does have external cameras but they're not powerful enough ℱ- nor utilized for - true MR applications. They're more for wayfinding when you're plugg🐷ed in. You're spending around £100 more on the Quest 3 right now, though, so if you're just after a gaming device PlayStation's where it's at this weekend.
