Through Bran's visions the scene was being set to reveal that Snow was actuallꦚy the son of Ned's sister Lyanna and Rhaegar Targaryen - left in Ned's care after she died following childbirth.
It's all but canon at this point after the end of season six where we see the baby handed over to a young🎶er Ned but this chart from now sets the parentage in ink:
As you can 🍰see it clearly identifies Lyanna and Rhaegar as mum and dad, making Daenerys a weird sexy aunt.
