Portal 2 NOT getting 'complete PlayStation Move support'

UPDATE: Valve has told us that the quote in question, which was posted in German on the , and translated back to English by , was "lost in translation" somewhere along the way. Portal 2 will not include Move support. Our original article is below.

Valve's affinity for the PS3 version of Portal 2 became clearer today with the studio's apparent announcement that it will be shipping its upcoming sequel with full PlayStation Move functionality. This could be another nice bit of Portal news for Sony fans who have also been promised access Valve's Stea𒈔m service, but is it also bittersweet news for Xbox 360 enthusiasts?

According to a translated interview, Val🔜ve isn't so much neglecting its Xbox 360 crowd as it is working to get back into Sony and its community's good books. In his chat with , Valve's Chet Faliszek explained that the studio would be adding PS Move support to Portal 2 as atonement for skipping over Sony's system with its Left 4 Dead series.

by Eurogamer Germany, add♈ing, "Look at it as a compensation for Left 4 Dead."

Fans will also recall that Gabe Newell outright promised that the PS3 version would be the ultimate version back at E3 2010, later "We made a promise to gamers at E3 that Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 would be the best console version of the product. Working together with Sony we have identified a set of features we believe are very compelling to gamers. We hope to expand upon the foundation being laid in Portal 2 with more Steam features and functionality in DLC and future content releases."

All said, if the German article is accurate, Valve's PS Move initiative isn't so much about playing favorites as it is about repairing relationships.
