THE CLONE WARS "It's Time For Some Characters To Pay The Piper"

We know that the Clone Wars begin at the end of Episode II and end at the beginning of Episode III , but all that stuff in between is one great big mystery. Who'd have guessed, for example, that Darth Maul would come back from being sliced in two to team up with his brother, Savage Opress? And what of all those characters – Asajj Ventress and Ahsoka Tano to name but two – who appear in The Clone Wars TV series without ever getting a mention in Star Wars ' big-screen outings? Expect a few answers in the upcomi🧔ng season five.

"Sometimes it’s as simple as the camera wasn’t really on them in the movies," explains The Clone Wars supervising director Dave Filoni. "It doesn’t mean they were killed, they just weren’t important to the story, so we didn’t put the camerꦓa on them. But there are characters where we really start to answer the question of why they aren't there, and what happened to them. I think you get that more this season than in the seasons leading up to it. It's time for some characters to pay the piper and there are consequences for some of their actions in previous seasons."

The Clone Wars features in our 24-page Awesome TV Preview bonus mini-mag, alongside all of the big new shows starting between now and Christmas.

To celebrate the preview mag, – featuring extra content you won’t be able to read in the magazine. Come back tomorrow for Day 10.
