What might have been

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is shaping up to be the definitive Dragon Ball game, thanks in part to the fact that it enables players to re-enact no fewer than 24 different storylines from the show's lengthy, screaming, spiky-haired run. As a cool extra for fans, that number includes a few "what if" scenarios that explore whatﷺ it would have been like if some of those stories had gone differently. The game doesn't hit stores until next month (Nov. 7 for PS2, Nov. 21 for Wii), but if you like, you can check out one of those scenarios for yourself right now. We've also got a ton of fresh screens, which you can eyeball by hitting the Images tab above.

Our personal favorite storyline, Destined Rivals, takes a look at an alternate version of the Majin Buu saga. To give you a taste of what to expect from the game, we're presenting a video of the storyline in its entirety over several days - fighting, cutscenes, boring-ass character management and all. Be warned: if you're the type who hates spoilers, this might not be for you. Everyone else, click the links below and ge🍸t yourself an eyeful of our three episodes, or just hit the one at bottom to download the whole thing.

After graduating from college in 2000 with a BA in journalism, I worked for five years as a copy editor, page designer and videogame-review columnist at a couple of mid-sized newspapers you've never heard of. My column eventually got me a freelancing gig with GMR magazine, which folded a few months later. I was hired on full-time by GamesRadar in late 2005, and have since been paid actual money to write silly articles about lovable blobs.
