Will Smith looks set to continue his journe💯y into the heart of darkness, following his 28 Days Later lookalike I Am Legend, with a ꧙morbid tale of murder in the Caribbean.

And we’re not talking Pi👍rates 4, instead, Columbia Pictures have optꦆioned Le Voyeur for Smith and James Lassiter to produce.

It hasn’t been cꩵonfirmed whether Smith will star in the adaptation of the 1955 French novel, but we do know the plot.

The existentialist-thriller follows a man who returns to the Caribbean island he grew up on only to become a suspect in the murder of a teenage girl that 🍃was committed two days after his arrival.

Despite being written by Alain Robbe-Grillet, a filmmaker himself, Le Voyeur doesn’t read like the most obvious fodder for bigscreen glory (it’s got little dialogue and did we mention it was dark ?), which might explain why it's been sitting onꦫ the shelf for five years, having been first set-up at Universal in 2002.

Clearly Smith thinks otherwis♍e, and Le Voyeur is set to start shooting later this year.
